Recipe: Chicken Marsala

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil, dried
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup Marsala wine

Instructions

Step 1

Pound the Chicken.
First pound the chicken between 2 sheets of plastic wrap so it is about 1/4" inch thick.

Step 2

Mix Spices. Then, add the salt, pepper, and basil to the flour on shallow plate. Mix the spices with the flour.

Step 3

Sauté the Chicken. Next, heat oil and butter over medium high heat. Dip the chicken in seasoned flour mixture and turn it so it is coated on both sides.
Place the coated chicken into the pan and cook about 2 minutes so they are lightly browned.

Step 4

Add Mushrooms. Now flip the chicken, add the mushrooms to the pan. Cook for another 2 minutes.

Step 5

Add Wine. Next, add the Marsala wine. Give it a stir and cover. Simmer for 10 more minutes.

Step 6

Serve and Enjoy. Once you see the chicken is cooked through, serve on top of pasta or rice and enjoy.
