Ingredients
- 1 For the grits:
- 4 cup water
- 1 cup white grits
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup grated white cheddar
- 1 For the shrimp:
- 4 strips bacon, cut in 1/4-inch pieces
- 1 lbs shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt, or to taste
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp minced green onions
- 1 tbsp minced jalapeno
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley
- 1 pinch of cayenne
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 tbsp cream
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 dash of Worcestershire
Instructions
Slowly saute the bacon pieces in a saute pan until almost crispy. Remove the bacon pieces, and leave the fat in the pan. Turn off the heat.
Add 1/4 cup water, 2 tablespoons cream, 2 teaspoon lemon juice, and a dash of Worcestershire in a small bowl. Mix well.
To make the grits, Add 4 cups water, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 cup grated white cheddar in a pot. Bring it to a boil. Whisk in 1 cup white grits. Bring it to a simmer. Simmer until creamy, it takes 5-6 minutes. When it is done, turn off the heat, stir in 1/2 cup grated white cheddar cheese.
To make the shrimps, add 1 pound shrimps, 1/2 teaspoon Cajun, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, and a pinch of cayenne in a mixing bowl. Stir well, and let the shrimps coated with the seasoning.
Put the pan with bacon fat on high heat. When the pan is hot, put the shrimp in it. Cook for a bout 1 minute. Then flip the shrimps over. Add 1 tablespoons minced green onions in the pan. Stir and cook for about 30 seconds. Dump in 1 tablespoons minced green onions ( light parts) and 3 cloves minced garlic. Give it a stir. Pour in the cream and lemon sauce. Give it a stir. Add a little bit water and some chopped green onion. Give it a final mix.
Pour some grits sauce on a serving plate, place the shrimp on it, spoon over the sauce. Enjoy!
