Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter, divided
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 4 cup cubed bread
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 1/4 cup cream
  • 1 oz (about 2 tablespoons) Gorgonzola, or other blue cheese

Instructions

  1. Cut the bread into small cubes, make 4 cups of them. Put them in a baking pan. Spread evenly. Bake at 200F until dry, it takes about 20 minutes. After that, transfer them in a bowl.

  2. Add 1 tablespoons butter in a pan over medium heat. When the butter is melted, add 1/2 diced onion and 1 pinch of salt. Cook until the onion just passes golden brown.

  3. Add some freshly ground black pepper, 4 cups cubed bread, 1 cup chicken stock, 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves, and 1/4 cup cream in the pan. Give it a stir. Bring it to a simmer. Turn the heat off. Pour the sauce on the bread cubes. Stir well. Add 1 oz (about 2 tablespoons) Gorgonzola, Stir well.

  4. Butter some small cups, distribute the bread cubes mixture in the small cups. Put a little chunk Gorgonzola on the centre of the cup.

  5. Place the small cups in the baking plate, bake at 400F oven for 15-20 minutes.
