Recipe: baked spinach artichoke dip

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 package (10 ounce) frozen chopped spinach
  • 1 can (14 ounce) artichoke hearts, drained, roughly chopped
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
  • very small pinch of nutmeg
  • salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated gruyere cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, preferably Parmigiano Reggiano
  • 1/4 cup mozzarella, shredded

Instructions

Step 1

Chop the white and light green parts of green onion into small pieces.

Step 2

Add some butter in a saute pan over medium heat. When the pan is hot, dump in the white and light green parts of green onion. Add a pinch of salt, saute for 5 minutes. Then turn off the heat. Add 2 cloves minced garlic. Give it a stir.

Step 3

Add 1 can (14 ounce) chopped artichoke hearts,
1 package (10 ounce) frozen chopped spinach,
the cooked green onion,
8 ounces cream cheese,
1/4 teaspoon hot sauce,
very small pinch of nutmeg,
some salt and fresh ground black pepper,
1/2 cup grated gruyere cheese,
and 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese in a mixing bowl. Mix well.

Step 4

Now put the mixture in ramekins. Topped with 1/4 cup mozzarella.

Step 5

Put the ramekins in an oven, cook at 400F for 25 minutes.

Step 6

To get more color, bake it in the top of the oven for another minutes.
