Recipe: Valentine Chocolate Mocha Pot de Creme
Ingredients
- 4 oz bittersweet chocolate
- 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee
- very tiny pinch of salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Step 1
Cut the chocolate into very small pieces (as small as corn kernels). Put them in a bowl. Add 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee and a very tiny pinch of salt. Set aside.
Step 2
Add 1 cup heavy cream,3 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon sugar,
and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract in a pot over medium heat. Keep stirring. As soon as it comes to a simmer, turn off the heat. Pour it over the chocolate, let sit for 1 minute. Stirring well.
Step 3
Divide it into 4 cups, tap the cup if there are bubbles. Refrigerate for 3-4 hour.
