Recipe: Thai Grilled Beef Skewers
Ingredients
- 2 pounds thinly sliced beef
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons fish sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons fresh very finely minced or pureed lemongrass
- 1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 tablespoon ground coriander
- 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
Instructions
Step 1
Slice the 2 pounds beef thin.
Step 2
Add 3 cloves diced garlic,1/4 cup brown sugar,
3 tablespoons fish sauce,
2 tablespoons soy sauce,
2 tablespoons fresh very finely minced or pureed lemongrass,
1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger,
1 teaspoon cumin,
1 teaspoon turmeric,
1 tablespoon ground coriander,
and 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice into a big mixing bowl. Whisk well.
This is our marinate.
Step 3
Put the beef slices in the marinate. Give them a nice stir.Then marinate in fridge for 4-6 hours, overnight is fine.
Step 4
Soak the skewers in water for at least 1 hour.
Step 5
Put the beef slices on the skewers. Grill them on a hot grill.At the begining, the beef skewers will be sticky. It is ok.
After grilling for a few minutes, they will be caramelized.
Flip them over. grill until the other side is caramelized, too.
