  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 diced green bell pepper
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • dash of Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • cayenne to taste

Instructions

Step 1

Put the ground beef and 1/2 diced onion on a cold pan over medium heat.
Keep stirring and cook for a few minutes until the ground beef is crumbled.

Step 2

Add 2 cloves minced garlic, give it a stir. Add 1 diced green bell pepper, give it a stir. Saute for 2-3 minutes. Then add 1 cups water. Give it a stir.

Step 3

Then mix in 3/4 cup ketchup.
Add 2 tablespoons brown sugar,
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper, 1 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1 cup water.
Mix well. Bring it to a simmer. Turn the heat to low. Simmer until the water is gone. It takes 30-45 minutes.

Step 4

Then add some cayenne. Give it a stir. It is done when you get a thick mixture.

Step 5

Spice it up, toss it onto some soft sesame seed hamburger buns, and make sure there are lots of Tater Tots within reach. Enjoy!
