Recipe: Sausage and Eggs Pizza
Ingredients
- pizza dough - brought to room temperature
- 2 tbsp cornmeal
- 3/4 cup pizza sauce
- red pepper flakes - optional
- 6-oz shredded fontina cheese
- 6-oz hot or mild Italian sausage - sliced - cooked - drained
- 4 whole eggs
- black pepper - to taste
- 1/3 cup grated Parmesan
- baby arugula - washed and dried
- olive oil
Instructions
Step 1
Add a little bit olive oil on a pan over a heat. Saute the Italian sausage slices in a pan. Put them on a paper towel to drain after they are cooked.
Step 2
Stretch the pizza dough. Spread 2 tbsp cornmeal on the dough. Flip the dough on a pizza pan, cornmeal side down.Spread tomato sauce all over the dough. Put 6-oz shredded fontina cheese (may substitute mozzarella, or Monterey Jack) on the dough. Put the sausage slices on the dough, and leave 4 opening for the eggs. Put more cheese on the top of the sausage slices.
Step 3
Cook in an oven at 475F for 12 minutes. After cooked, it becomes a pizza. Beat 4 eggs, and put each egg in a bowl. Uses a wood spatula to press the 4 openings so that helps the eggs stand nicely and steady. Add each egg on different opening, and add black pepper on the eggs. Top the pizza with 1/3 cup grated Parmesan.
