Recipe: Rice Pilaf with Saffron Currants and Almonds

Ingredients

  • 2 cups basmati rice
  • 3 cups cold water
  • 2 tbl dried currants
  • 2 tbl dried currants 1/3 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbl butter
  • pinch of saffron
  • 2 tbl olive oil

Instructions

Step 1

Add 2 cups basmati rice,
2 tbl olive oil,
a pinch of saffron,
2 tbl dried currants,
1/3 cup slivered almonds, and 1 tsp salt into a pot. Give it a mix.

Step 2

Add 1 tbl butter, and 3 cups cold water. Give it a stir. Put the pot on a heat. When it comes to a boil, give it a stir with a fork.
Turn the heat down to low. Put the lid on. Simmer on extreme low heat for 20 minutes. Then let sit for 5 minutes.
