Recipe: Rice Pilaf with Saffron Currants and Almonds
Ingredients
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 3 cups cold water
- 2 tbl dried currants
- 2 tbl dried currants 1/3 cup slivered almonds
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbl butter
- pinch of saffron
- 2 tbl olive oil
Instructions
Step 1
Add 2 cups basmati rice,2 tbl olive oil,
a pinch of saffron,
2 tbl dried currants,
1/3 cup slivered almonds, and 1 tsp salt into a pot. Give it a mix.
Step 2
Add 1 tbl butter, and 3 cups cold water. Give it a stir. Put the pot on a heat. When it comes to a boil, give it a stir with a fork.Turn the heat down to low. Put the lid on. Simmer on extreme low heat for 20 minutes. Then let sit for 5 minutes.
