Recipe: Penne Pasta with Sausage Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 pound spicy Italian sausage
- 1 tablespoon freshly minced parsley, optional
- 1/2 cup dry white wine
- 3 1/2 cups (1 jar) marinara sauce
- 1 cup water (rinse the jar)
- 1/4 cup cream
- 14.5 oz dry penne pasta
- grated Parmigiano-Reggiano
Instructions
Step 1
Peel the spicy Italian sausages, then throw them in a pot over medium heat. Stir and brown for 12 - 15 minutes. Add 1 tablespoon freshly minced parsley. Cook for 2 minutes. Add 1/2 cup dry white wine. Keep cooking until the white wine almost evaporates.
Step 2
Add 1/4 cup cream, turn the heat to high. Bring it to a boil, then add 3 1/2 cups (1 jar) marinara sauce,and 1 cup water (rinse the jar). Bring it to a simmer, turn the heat to low. Simmer for 1 hour on low heat.
Step 3
Boil 14.5 oz dry penne pasta. drain well. Put in a pot. Add the sauce, Mix well. Let sit covered for 1-2 minutes.
