Recipe: Open-Face Steak Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 8 oz New York strip steak
  • salt, black pepper, and paprika to taste
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbl balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 2 slice Italian bread

Instructions

Step 1

Get rid of the fat from the steak, then cut the steak into half.
put the steak between 2 plastics. Use a hammer or a flatter to pound the steak to half thickness.

Step 2

Add 2 tbl balsamic vinegar,
1 tsp Dijon mustard,
1 tsp ketchup,
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce,
1/3 cup water in a mixing bowl. Mix well. This is our sauce.

Step 3

Season the steak with salt and pepper evenly. Put the oil on the steak. Sear the steak on a hot saute pan for 60 seconds per side.

Step 4

Remove the steak, turn the heat off, add 2 cloves chopped garlic in a pan. Stir the garlic around for about 30 seconds. Pour in the sauce. Turn the heat to medium - low. Reduce the sauce by half.

Step 5

Add 1 tsp butter and the steak in the pan. Stir around.

Step 6

Put some salad on a serving plate, place 2 slices break beside it. Put the steak on the bread, spoon over the sauce, enjoy!
