Recipe: Mushroom Gravy
Ingredients
- 1 pound sliced mushrooms
- 1 quart beef stock or broth
- 1/2 stick butter
- 3 rounded tbl flour
- salt and pepper to taste
- fresh herb
Instructions
Step 1
Put 1/2 stick butter into a pot over medium heat.When the butter is melted, add 1 pound sliced mushrooms.
Give it a stir, add a big pinch of salt.
Simmer for 20 minutes.
Step 2
Add 3 rounded tbl flour, saute for about 5 minutes.Add 1 quart beef stock or broth. Give it a stir.
Turn the heat up, bring it to a simmer.
Step 3
Add some fresh herb (this is optional, I used Thyme).Turn the heat to medium. Simmer for 30 minutes.
