Recipe: Jerky Chicken

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tbl Jerk spice mix
  • 1/2 orange, juiced
  • salt to taste
  • garlic oil to saute
  • vegetable oil

Instructions

Step 1

Squeeze the juice of 1/2 orange into a bowl. Add 2 tbl Jerk spice mix. Mix well.

Step 2

Make some little slashes across the chicken breasts, about 1/4 inch deep.
Then turn the knife in 90 degree angle, make some slashes against the previous slashes.

Step 3

Rub the mixed sauce into the chicken breasts. The slashes will hold the sauce and its flavour.
Then put them into a plastic bag, marinate in a refrigerator for at least 5 hours.

Step 4

Then take out the chicken breasts from the plastic bag, put them on a paper towel. Transfer them to a plate, season with some salt.

Step 5

Add some garlic and oil in a pan over high heat. When the oil is hot, turn the heat to medium. Put in the chicken breasts. Sear for 5-6 minutes per side.
