Recipe: French Fries

Ingredients

  • Russet or Kennebec Potatoes
  • vegetable oil or shortening for frying
  • salt

Instructions

Step 1

Slice the potatoes into long strips. Rinse the strips in water. Dry them with paper towel.

Step 2

Add half pot vegetable oil in a pot. Preheat the oil to 275F, then put the potatoes strips in the pot. Fry at 275F for 5 minutes.

Step 3

Then remove, dry and cool them on paper towel.

Step 4

Preheat the oil to 350F, the put the potatoes strips in the pot, fry at 350F until browned. It maybe takes about 6 minutes. Stir constantly.

Step 5

Remove, dry and cool on a paper towel. Transfer to a serving plate, serve with ketchup.
