Recipe: Beef Short Ribs with Tomato and Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup dried porcini mushroom
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 1/2 to 3 pounds beef short ribs (about 8-10 pieces)
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary

Instructions

Step 1

put 1/2 cup dried porcini mushroom into a small bowl, pour down water into the bowl, leave them for an hour

Step 2

add some soft pepper to the beef short ribs
put some oil into a pan, medium - high heat, put the beef short ribs into the pan
cook for a few second

Step 3

slice 1 onion, mince 2 cloves garlic
take out the mushrooms from the bowl, mince them

Step 4

take out the beef short ribs from the pan, and put the onions into the same pan,
cook for 3 minutes
throw in garlic, mushrooms

Step 5

pour down 2 cups beef broth, mushroom water in the first step, 1 tsp dried rosemary, 1 cup tomato sauce
cook for a 1-2 minutes

Step 6

take the sauce out, pour them into the beef short ribs
put into over for 2 hours at 325F

Step 7

it will be better if leave them overnight.
