Recipe: Artichoke Hearts Gratin

Ingredients

  • Makes 12 halves
  • 6 artichoke hearts, drained
  • salt and fresh ground black pepper to taste
  • 2-3 tablespoon plain breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • lemon

Instructions

Step 1

Cut the artichoke hearts into half. Put them on paper towel, cut side down. Drain at least 15 minutes.

Step 2

Put them on a slightly oiled baking sheet, cut side up. Four in a row. Season them with salt and black pepper. Sprinkle plain breadcrumbs on them, topped with grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. Drizzle a little bit olive oil on them.

Step 3

Pre-heat the broiler on high heat. Put the Artichoke Hearts in the broiler, about 5-6 inches away from the heat. Broil on high heat for about 7 minutes.

Step 4

Place the Artichoke Hearts on a double eggs tray, and put half an orange in the center.
