Recipe: American Apple Pie
Ingredients
- 6-8 baking apples - I used 2 Granny Smith - 2 Braeburn - 2 Fuji
- 1/2 lemon
- 1 cup white sugar
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- very tiny pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 egg - beaten
- ready to use pie dough (I used Pillsbury)
Instructions
Step 1
Peel the apples, and take off the cores. Cut each apple into quarters,slice each quarter.
Step 2
Put the apple slices into a big bowl, add in 1/2 lemon juice. Toss around.
Step 3
Add in1 cup white sugar,
3 tbsp cornstarch,
1/2 tsp cinnamon,
very tiny pinch of salt. Toss around.
Step 4
Take a 9 inch pie dish, Place a pie dough (I used Pillsbury) in the dish.Put the apple slice mixture into the Pillsbury, pour over the juice.
Dot some butter on the top.
Step 5
Put another Pillsbury on the top, Make the top Pillsbury fit in the bottom Pillsbury. tuck it in.Roll the edge of the bottom Pillsbury over the top.
Step 6
Use a knife to put a "x" and 4 slash on the top Pillsbury.Put a foam into a roasting pan, and put the pie dish on the pan.
Brush the apple pie with the beaten egg. Dust with sugar.
